Ace’s second dream of Izana. I wanna delete the photos off my phone, so here:

Izana: Hey. We meet again.
Ace: Did you manage to meet your younger brother today?
Izana: Yeah.
Ace: That’s a rather gloomy look on your face. Did you two have a fight or something?
Izana: You could tell, huh.
Ace: You brothers don’t get along well?
Izana: Siblings have always been annoying towards one another.
Izana: There are times where you just want to really punch them in the gut.
Ace: Somehow, isn’t what you’re saying now totally different from last time?
Izana: Nah, didn’t I tell you? Siblings can have rather uncool relationships with one another.
Ace: I see. It’s definitely uncool to have sibling fights when you’re at this age. (AND HE SAYS THIS WITH A STRAIGHT FACE ACE WHY SO BRUTAL)
Izana: …….I’m just a lowly soldier in the military. My younger brother is an elite student candidate. We have different ways of thinking.
Ace: Are you jealous of your younger brother?
Izana: Nah, no matter how you see it, I’m the pathetic one.
Izana: I want to tell my younger brother, “Get more military gains. (promotions?)”
Izana: “I thought that I’d want to make you proud but…”
Izana: “Your big bro is a prideful person himself.”
Ace: …….
Ace: …….We’re going to sortie very soon.
Izana: ?
Ace: If we ask for your help, would you lend a hand?
Izana: You’re a student candidate, aren’t you?
Izana: The student candidates support the military and its top ranks.
Izana: Such talk (orders) will not come to someone of my rank.
Ace: But if it does come to you, will you fight?
Izana: Do you intend to bless me with a chance?
Ace: I don’t exactly mean it that way.
Ace: Assuming it’s just us, it looks like the first strategy is to have the people we know and the Classes.
Izana: …..Whether such a chance will come to me or not…
Izana: I’ll be only fighting for the sake of Suzaku’s future and my younger brother’s.
Izana: I will wager everything on it.
Ace: I see.
Ace: …Make sure you mend your ties with your younger brother soon.
Ace: It’s this kind of period, after all. You don’t know when your last moment will be.
Izana: Even if I know, we can’t just mend our ties like that. We have our stubbornness.
Izana: That’s how brothers are.

And then he walks away, leading Ace to wake up from his dream and then this scene. Gawd Kunagiri Kyoudai are so stubborn b-but I hope they did make up before Izana dies T_T;;

So uh, from what I could understand from this conversation, it does seem Izana is a little jealous that he’s a lowly soldier whereas Machina is an elite student candidate, despite him not saying it? The talk on pride confused me a bit, but I guess even though Izana wants to make Machina proud of him, he has his own ambitions…?

As for the strategy thing Ace mentioned, at first I was ??? but it makes sense for someone to go out to battle with people they know and whom they can rely on, and since the student candidates are “elites”, I guess that’s why they’d bring out all the Classes. Not too sure if Izana going out to battle is really due to knowing a Class Zero student and/or “being given a chance” or not, but I could see that baldy Suzaku congress guy brainwashing Machina with that excuse, which is why Machina doesn’t trust Class Zero…
